Entre Leadership Camp 22, which is organized by the Entre Club of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is a leadership arm that is brought to the students of the university with the intention of developing their leadership skills and to motivate them to create a better tomorrow as the future leaders of the country. This year being the first time organizing this leadership camp, it was open to all members of Entre Club. This outstanding camp is a three-day event that was held on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of May 2022. On the 23rd of May, the Opening ceremony of the Entre Leadership Camp’22 was held at the Sumangala Auditorium of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The event was graced by the amazing presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Senior Professor Sudantha Liyanage, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Director of CDEPD & Head of Department of Economics, Professor (Mrs.) B.W.R. Damayanthi, Lecturer in Charge Assistant Lecturer Pasan Wijayawardhana and Instructor, Mr Pubudu Jayasundara. The event was even more brightened with the presence of our Guest Speaker, Mr. Dian Baduge, a young entrepreneur with expertise in marketing, innovation, recruitment, publishing, and training. He is also the one who built Sri Lanka’s first-ever virtual exhibition platform, bringing `Augmented Reality` for education needs, coding for children movement and initiating Sri Lanka’s largest school career guidance network. As he shared his well-experienced knowledge and talents with the young, potential entrepreneurs of our university he boosted their motivation and interest in investing in this field.
The opening ceremony was followed by yet another interesting session which was the Outbound Training session which was held with the assistance and cooperation of the National Youth Service Council. The evening of the first day of ELC’22 was embraced by the “Entre Kolama” which was a cultural evening that was filled with a number of folk dances and songs that enrichened the Sri Lankan Culture. The participants once again had an exquisite experience through this camp. 2nd Day of ELC’22 comprised of cooking competition, annual cell planning, First-aid guidance session & Self-reflection session. ELC 22’ was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience to all the undergraduates who participated in this event. As this camp was filled with so much of diversity, it is obvious that this is definitely a highlight in all of our university life. The event was successful thanks to all stakeholders including sponsors, academic and non-academic staff of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
